The BMT100 Manual Single-Sided Tooth Setter is a compact, precise, and cost-effective solution designed for low-volume sawmilling operations and individual blade maintenance. Engineered for reliability and ease of use, the BMT100 enables accurate and consistent tooth setting, ensuring optimal cutting performance and extended blade life.

Manual Single-Sided Operation

The BMT100 is a manually operated tooth setter that sets one tooth at a time. The operator uses a crank handle to bend the tooth while manually advancing the blade forward. The unit sets teeth on one side of the blade in a single pass; after completing one side, the blade must be inverted to set the opposite side.

To preserve the correct “left/right/straight” tooth pattern, every third tooth must be set during advancement. Although fully manual, the BMT100 ensures high accuracy when operated correctly. Setting one blade typically takes approximately 7-10 minutes, depending on blade length and operator experience.

Precision Adjustment and Measurement

The BMT100 is equipped with a dial indicator that accurately measures the tooth set value during operation. This precision gauge allows the operator to monitor and adjust tooth deflection, ensuring symmetrical, consistent sets from tooth to tooth and side to side.

Before beginning the setting process, proper blade preparation and machine adjustment are essential. The blade height in the clamp must be precisely adjusted, with the bottom of the gullet positioned approximately 1.0-1.5 mm below the top clamping edge. The setting point should be adjusted to approximately one-third of the tooth height measured from the tip of the tooth. The dial indicator must then be reset before operation to ensure accurate readings.

The BMT100 includes an adjustable set screw for positioning the setting point and blade indexing pawls for adapting to different tooth spacing. Blade height adjustment screws allow compatibility with 25-75 mm (1"-3") wide blades.

Functional and Durable Design

The BMT100 features a robust mechanical construction designed for dependable workshop use. Key components include a manual crank handle for controlled tooth bending, an adjustable clamp nut for handle positioning, an adjustable tooth-set dial indicator, blade indexing pawls for tooth spacing adjustment, adjustable blade support arms, and a Bend Back Tool for correcting over-set teeth. The included Bend Back Tool enables correction of teeth that have been over-set, ensuring that blades remain within proper tolerance limits.

Practical Solution for Entry-Level Operations

The BMT100 is specifically intended for operators who require consistent tooth setting at lower production volumes. Its manual design keeps the unit affordable and mechanically simple while still delivering precise, repeatable results.

For small sawmills, workshops, or individual users seeking an economical yet accurate blade maintenance solution, the BMT100 offers dependable performance, precise measurement capability, and consistent tooth geometry restoration—ensuring that blades are ready to cut with renewed efficiency.
